That level of commitment really does make a difference. 🙌 But at the same time, we don’t think it should stop there. So we’ve taken a small step ourselves, teaming up with Jo and Josh from Trusted Traders to freshen up a handful of independent businesses on New Road, adding colour and character while backing the traders who keep the street going. 💙 It’s only a trial, but the early response has been really encouraging. We’re offering FREE self-defence sessions for women and girls aged 10+ as part of our commitment to stand against violence toward women and young girls. 💙 After amazing feedback from our previous sessions, we knew we had to continue. There’s clearly a demand, and we want to create safe, supportive spaces where people can build confidence and learn practical skills. That’s why we’ve made five additional classes available. Our first upcoming session is this April with more sessions in the following months! It’s been a busy week for our outreach team, and honestly, that’s an understatement. We’ve well and truly had the burners on this week. 😅 The team have been flat out with business support and engagement, alongside continuing our clean-up and safety work across the town centre. Chris and Ricky have been out litter picking, de-weeding, and cleaning right across the town centre and the Horsefair, as well as giving our amazing Museum of Carpet a hand with refreshing their frontage. 💙 You can flick through below to see some of the areas we’ve been working on, it’s been amazing to see so much support and encouragement from you all. We can’t say the same for the weather (rain or shine 🌧️😅), but we’ll keep showing up and doing our bit because we want the best for our town. The sun was out, so we popped down to our amazing local café, Eazy Lounge ☀️ They’ve just had a full refresh on the counter with high-quality new finishes, and it’s now packed with delicious cakes and Turkish treats 😍 Not only that, they’ve expanded the team too, and as always, the owners are so welcoming and lovely. Huge congratulations to Trey and Mikey's Boxing Gym - Kidderminster Boxing Club on an incredible achievement, Trey is now the England Boxing Youth National Champion! 💪🏼 After a brilliant weekend in Rotherham, Trey won his final 5–0 unanimously, making him a 3x national champion. An unbelievable result that shows years of hard work, dedication and talent. A massive achievement for Trey and for our local community. Today we couldn’t help but notice some "rogue" shopping trolleys in the canal alongside Weavers Wharf… and that’s definitely an understatement. After pulling them out, we ended up recovering over 15 trolleys, with a full mix from M&S, Tesco, Morrisons, and even The Range, so they’d clearly travelled a fair way! 😅 One of them had definitely seen better days too… Alongside the trolleys, we also found a couple of sandbags, an umbrella (not the best place for it), and even some computer boards. As part of our ongoing efforts to keep the town safer and cleaner, we couldn’t wait until the weekly update to share this one with you. It’s been a busy one for our team this week They’ve been out across town litter picking, tidying up pathways, and helping make our streets cleaner, safer and more welcoming. 💙 Over at the Horsefair, they tackled overgrown greenery, supported businesses in the area and even came across a bit of a "secret stash" of buckets hidden away 😅 Behind the scenes, it’s been a big effort too with over 140,000 steps clocked and 11+ bags of litter collected. The team also supported local businesses including Asda, A1 Jeans and Dunelm, helping to freshen up frontages and give key areas a much-needed tidy. Another week into the year and our BID team have been busy supporting local businesses and tidying up pathways across town, helping make our streets cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for everyone. It’s been a cold start to the year, but that hasn’t slowed Chris and Ricky down. 💙 This week they came across one of the most surprising finds yet, you won’t believe the photo above… and honestly, we didn’t believe it at first either! A hidden “goldmine” of litter tucked away near the old Wilko site. Alongside that, they collected 11 bags of litter and supported local businesses including Dunelm and B&Q with clean-ups. 🫣 We’re excited to keep the momentum going and crack on with more projects as the year moves forward. It’s been a cold and icy start to the year, but our outreach team have still been out and about supporting local businesses and the local community. This week we’ve been working alongside businesses like Co-op Funeral Care and KDYT, helping with de-weeding, litter picking, cleaning business frontages and giving a bit of extra support where it’s needed. ❄️ The weather hasn’t slowed us down (even if it’s made us a bit chilly 😅) and we’re carrying on with our efforts to make the town cleaner, safer and more welcoming for everyone. What a year. Honestly, when we stop and look back, there’s been a lot going on across Kidderminster. From new businesses opening all over town to fresh ideas popping up in leisure, retail and hospitality, it’s been great to see the place buzzing and changing throughout the year. 🌟 For us, the real highlight has been YOU. The support at our events this year has been unreal whether you came along to Love Kidderminster Fundays, the Canal & Food Fest, Music Fest or the Christmas Light Switch On, you turned up, got involved and made them what they were. Way better than we ever expected. And judging by the messages and ideas you keep sending us, you’re already thinking ahead too, so yes, planning for 2026 is already underway. 😉 We’ve worked with some brilliant partners this year, welcomed new faces to the BID team, and been backed by an amazing local community and businesses. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you.
