It’s been a cold and icy start to the year, but our outreach team have still been out and about supporting local businesses and the local community. This week we’ve been working alongside businesses like Co-op Funeral Care and KDYT, helping with de-weeding, litter picking, cleaning business frontages and giving a bit of extra support where it’s needed. ❄️ The weather hasn’t slowed us down (even if it’s made us a bit chilly 😅) and we’re carrying on with our efforts to make the town cleaner, safer and more welcoming for everyone. We’ve got some exciting plans coming up this year and we can’t wait to share them with you. What a year. Honestly, when we stop and look back, there’s been a lot going on across Kidderminster. From new businesses opening all over town to fresh ideas popping up in leisure, retail and hospitality, it’s been great to see the place buzzing and changing throughout the year. 🌟 For us, the real highlight has been YOU. The support at our events this year has been unreal whether you came along to Love Kidderminster Fundays, the Canal & Food Fest, Music Fest or the Christmas Light Switch On, you turned up, got involved and made them what they were. Way better than we ever expected. And judging by the messages and ideas you keep sending us, you’re already thinking ahead too, so yes, planning for 2026 is already underway. 😉 We’ve worked with some brilliant partners this year, welcomed new faces to the BID team, and been backed by an amazing local community and businesses. We genuinely couldn’t do this without you. In case you missed it, Cafe O & D has officially opened inside the Swan Centre ☕️ Formerly known as Café Pacifico, the team have had a full revamp and rebrand and have now moved from the Rowland Hill Centre into the former Tilly café unit. We’re genuinely impressed by how quickly they’ve turned the space around and the quality, time, and effort that’s gone into it, it looks amazing. They’ve kept everything you already know and love them for, with the same great team behind it, and we’ve no doubt the business will continue to grow. There’s plenty to unpack in this week’s clean-up update.💙 Chris and Ricky have been busy right across the town centre, from Green Street through to the High Street, rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in. They’ve been clearing moss, tidying up brickwork, raking away fallen leaves, picking litter, and freshening up business fronts, all while supporting local businesses along the way, including stops on New Road and at Corner Café. 🌿 With Christmas shopping still well underway, we’re doing our best to keep the town clean, safe, and welcoming so everyone can enjoy their time in town. Our Late Night Christmas Shopping at Vintage Dolly has been such a lovely evening, a really relaxed festive atmosphere, lots of laughs, and so many wonderful locals popping in. 💙 The treats went down a storm, and as always, there were loads of fun and unusual vintage finds to look through. Today we held our first free women’s and girls’ self-defence class at Russell Perks Martial Arts Academy and we couldn’t be happier with the amazing turnout. 💙 It was incredible to see the support, the energy, and just how much this kind of space is needed. 🌟 Thank you to everyone who came along. Another week, another update from our BID team 💙 This week Ricky and Chris clocked over 55,000 steps and cleared 6 bags of litter, all while continuing their mission to make our town centre cleaner, safer, and more welcoming for everyone. They’ve been out across the town de-weeding, litter-picking, and freshening up key areas. Over in the Horsefair, the greenery around the Horseshoe has been given a stunning makeover, now looking far more cared for and inviting as you walk by. Meanwhile on Green Street, they’ve hoed, swept, and cut back the overgrowth along the old factory, making the footpaths noticeably cleaner and much more inviting. 🌟 We’re seeing real improvements each week as the team ramp up efforts to finish the year on a strong note. And as always, we’re genuinely overwhelmed by the kindness, support, and encouraging words from both local businesses and our amazing community. Another week, another update, and as we move through the festive period, Ricky and Chris have been out across town continuing our BID team’s ongoing cleansing work. 🌟 This week they clocked up over 40,000 steps and collected 6 bags of litter, focusing first on clearing ivy and built-up plant debris along the footpath leading towards town, Tesco and the bus stop. The walkway has now been noticeably widened, giving everyone much more room and making the route feel safer and more comfortable during this busy shopping season. 🌿 They’ve also headed over to the Horsefair, giving the greenery by the horseshoe a much-needed tidy and lift, making the area look visibly cleaner and more welcoming as you pass through. As part of our Christmas Light Switch On celebrations on 15th November, we were thrilled to share a little extra festive fun at the Museum of Carpet✨ A huge congratulations to Max, our lucky winner of the Museum of Carpet Trail. After completing the trail on Saturday, he received a £25 gift card from The Entertainer, a well-deserved prize and a lovely moment to kick off the festive season. His dad was happy for us to share his win, and we’re delighted to celebrate it with everyone.
