You might have seen that Peacocks on Worcester Street is due to close on April 4th. It’s always sad to see a long-standing town centre business go, especially one with such a lovely team who really care about their customers and the town. They’ve always been engaging and have loved getting involved in what we do, which we’ve really appreciated. 🌟 We popped in earlier and there are some brilliant deals in there at the moment (and they’re going quickly!). If you’re in town over the next couple of weeks, it would be great to pop in, grab a bargain and show the team a bit of love and support before they close. It’s been another busy week for our outreach team. Chris and Ricky have been non-stop helping businesses tidy up their frontages, supporting over 30 businesses in the past few days including Mobile Tech, Vodafone, Pavers and plenty more as we start gearing up for the better weather and the run into spring. Safe to say the brushes and litter pickers have been getting a proper workout this week! 💙 Alongside that, the team have kept up their ongoing clean-up across the town centre, collecting over 15 bags of litter. Sam and Mike have also been out supporting businesses and helping keep an eye on things around town. Today Mountain Warehouse celebrated the opening of their newly expanded store in Kidderminster, with Deputy Mayor Shazu Miah joined by founder Mark Neale for the occasion. In case you missed it, they’ve expanded into the unit right next door, creating a much bigger space with more stock and an even wider variety of outdoor gear, and honestly, it looks fantastic. 🤩 It’s brilliant to see a national brand like Mountain Warehouse continuing to invest in our town after more than 10 years here. Seeing businesses grow and expand like this is always a great sign for the town and our high street. 🙌 There was also a lovely moment on the day as Jade, the Assistant Store Manager, and Simon the team leader, was presented with his 10-year service certificate, a great achievement and a real sign of the strong team behind the store. 👏 If you’re heading into town, it’s definitely worth popping in and taking a look at Crossley Retail Park 💙 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #new #community #support #team #love #town #Events #gear #clothes

It’s been one of those weeks, rain, sun, a bit of everything, but our outreach team have still been out and about supporting local businesses and continuing our cleansing efforts to help make the town cleaner, safer and better for everyone. 💙 This week Ricky and Chris have done some amazing work on Green Street, alongside making solid progress across the wider town centre. Sam and Mike have also been out supporting businesses and keeping things moving. In total, the team collected over 9 bags of litter and clocked an incredible 550k steps. We’re starting to see a real difference and hope you are too. Incase you didn’t know, this week marks James Barker’s final week as BID Manager at Kidderminster BID. 🌟 James has played a huge role in shaping the events and energy in our town over the past few years. From introducing Oktoberfest and the Canal & Food Festival to helping deliver some fantastic town centre moments, he’s left a real mark on Kidderminster. 💙 Beyond the events, he’s been a driving force behind bringing businesses together and pushing the town forward. A proper character, a big personality, and someone who genuinely cared about making things happen. It’s been a brilliant couple of years working alongside him, and we hope you’ve enjoyed the events and initiatives he helped bring to life as much as we have. Iit’s brilliant to see over £40 million being invested into buildings across the town. That level of commitment really does make a difference. 🙌 But at the same time, we don’t think it should stop there. So we’ve taken a small step ourselves, teaming up with Jo and Josh from Trusted Traders to freshen up a handful of independent businesses on New Road, adding colour and character while backing the traders who keep the street going. 💙 It’s only a trial, but the early response has been really encouraging. We’re offering FREE self-defence sessions for women and girls aged 10+ as part of our commitment to stand against violence toward women and young girls. 💙 After amazing feedback from our previous sessions, we knew we had to continue. There’s clearly a demand, and we want to create safe, supportive spaces where people can build confidence and learn practical skills. That’s why we’ve made five additional classes available. Our first upcoming session is this April with more sessions in the following months! It’s been a busy week for our outreach team, and honestly, that’s an understatement. We’ve well and truly had the burners on this week. 😅 The team have been flat out with business support and engagement, alongside continuing our clean-up and safety work across the town centre. Chris and Ricky have been out litter picking, de-weeding, and cleaning right across the town centre and the Horsefair, as well as giving our amazing Museum of Carpet a hand with refreshing their frontage. 💙 You can flick through below to see some of the areas we’ve been working on, it’s been amazing to see so much support and encouragement from you all. We can’t say the same for the weather (rain or shine 🌧️😅), but we’ll keep showing up and doing our bit because we want the best for our town. The sun was out, so we popped down to our amazing local café, Eazy Lounge ☀️ They’ve just had a full refresh on the counter with high-quality new finishes, and it’s now packed with delicious cakes and Turkish treats 😍 Not only that, they’ve expanded the team too, and as always, the owners are so welcoming and lovely. Huge congratulations to Trey and Mikey's Boxing Gym - Kidderminster Boxing Club on an incredible achievement, Trey is now the England Boxing Youth National Champion! 💪🏼 After a brilliant weekend in Rotherham, Trey won his final 5–0 unanimously, making him a 3x national champion. An unbelievable result that shows years of hard work, dedication and talent. A massive achievement for Trey and for our local community. Today we couldn’t help but notice some "rogue" shopping trolleys in the canal alongside Weavers Wharf… and that’s definitely an understatement. After pulling them out, we ended up recovering over 15 trolleys, with a full mix from M&S, Tesco, Morrisons, and even The Range, so they’d clearly travelled a fair way! 😅 One of them had definitely seen better days too… Alongside the trolleys, we also found a couple of sandbags, an umbrella (not the best place for it), and even some computer boards. As part of our ongoing efforts to keep the town safer and cleaner, we couldn’t wait until the weekly update to share this one with you.
