Kidderminster BID Community 3 months round up

The Kidderminster BID Community Team have been keeping busy during October, November and December. Together with our fantastic local partners, we’ve continued to deliver activities that provide opportunities for connecting with others and improving community spirit.
Since the start of October, we’ve proudly supported 77 free community activities – and it’s been amazing to see them visited over 795 times by local people of all ages.
Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ve been up to:
✨ Connect & Brew – 50 friendly drop-in sessions across five venues, with more than 485 visits. These sessions gave people the chance to sit down, share a cuppa, and enjoy good conversation.
🎨 Creative & Craft Sessions – 10 creative sessions across six venues, attracting 125 visits. From pumpkin painting at the Swan Centre to festive crafts at the Museum of Carpet. From Djembe Drumming at Kidderminster College to Organic Candle Making at the Tulip Tree Centre, these sessions have inspired imagination and encouraged community connections.
💃Fitness & Activity Sessions – 17 sessions at two venues, bringing in 185 visits. Whether it was Fun Fitness with Lisa or trying racket sports at the leisure centre, more people got moving while having fun.
Along the way, we’ve continued to share laughs and stories at Kidderminster Library, the Rose Theatre and the Tulip Tree Centre. We’ve enjoyed chats in the recently added Corner Café and Garage Café, all while creating welcoming spaces in familiar community places.
But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real success has been the connections made, the friendships formed, and the sense of belonging that has continued to grow within our town. Local people, coming together in local places, building stronger community ties – that’s what it’s all about.
Don’t just take our word for it, these are some of the lovely comments we’ve received from local people attending our activities:
🎤 “I really look forward to our chats on Tuesday mornings; it’s my favourite day of the week.” Stanley (Connect & Brew @ The Corner Cafe)
🎤 “Thanks for this. It’s been great to get my Dad playing Badminton again and even Mum has had a go at the bowling!” Glen (Balls, Rackets, Nets and more… @ Wyre Forest Leisure Centre)
🎤 “I’ve been coming to this group since March; it’s been a life-saver. It gets me out of the house. I can talk to people and we can have a laugh” Susan (Connect & Brew @ The Tulip Tree Centre)
🎤 “Thank you for doing this. Groups like this are important.” Ursula (Broadwaters Tea & Coffee Morning @ The Rose Theatre)
🎤 “It’s good that there are more of these groups now.” Ellie (Connect & Brew @ The Garage Cafe)
