Kidderminster BID Community 6 months round up

Kidderminster BID Community Round-Up 🌟

The past 6 months have been amazing for our Kidderminster BID Community Team! Together with our fantastic local partners, we’ve created a season full of activity, connection, and community spirit.

Over the past few months, we’ve proudly supported more than 60 free community activities – and it’s been wonderful to see them visited over 580 times by local people of all ages.

Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ve been up to:

✨ Connect & Brew – 25 friendly drop-in sessions across two venues, with more than 340 visits. These sessions gave people the chance to sit down, share a cuppa, and enjoy good conversation.

🎨 Creative & Craft Sessions – 18 activities across three venues, attracting 143 visits. From crafting at the Museum of Carpet to creative chats at the Futurist Cinema, these sessions have inspired imagination and connection.

💃 Fitness & Dance Sessions – 17 sessions at four venues, bringing in 100 visits. Whether it was dancing for wellbeing at Youth House or trying racket sports at the leisure centre, people got moving while having fun.

Along the way, we’ve shared laughs and stories at Kidderminster Library, enjoyed chats at the Rose Theatre and the Tulip Tree Centre, and discovered new talents in familiar community spaces.

But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real success has been the connections made, the friendships formed, and the sense of belonging that has grown within our town. Local people, coming together in local places, building stronger community ties – that’s what it’s all about.

Don’t just take our word for it, these are some of the lovely comments we’ve received from local people attending our activities:

🎤 “I’m just so glad to be able to get out, especially on a Monday after the weekend stuck indoors.” Linda (Connect & Brew @ Kidderminster Library)

🎤 “Can I just take this opportunity to say thank you for setting up and running these groups. They’re really good.” Bob (Connect & Brew @ The Tulip Tree Centre)

🎤 “I like all the groups – it’s a lovely set of people.” Charlie (Connect & Brew @ Kidderminster Library)

🎤 “Thank-you so much for organising this. It’s really great.” Lynn (Racket Sports @ Wyre Forest Leisure Centre)

🎤 “I love coming to this – you can just be yourself and have a chat with others.” Mary (Connect & Brew @ Kidderminster Library)

💙 Want to be part of it?

If you’d like to get more involved in your community, meet new people, or try something new, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with the BID Community Team and join us in making Kidderminster an even stronger, friendlier place to live.

Our local favourite, The Post house on Blackwell Street, has had a full makeover, and it’s looking brilliant 🤩 The Post House are reopening their kitchen with a brand-new menu, with everything from burgers and pub classics to breakfasts, sharing plates and a few proper comfort food options too. Prices are really good as well, and to celebrate the launch they’re currently offering 25% off food (excluding drinks and meal deals/offers). The full new menu launches this Monday 11th May. Great team behind it and always good to see a local business adding more to their offering for locals. Definitely worth popping in, having a bite and showing some support local 💙 BOOK A TABLE: www.theposthousebydavenports.co.uk/book-1 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #local #food #local #community #support #business #new

Swesh Studio has officially opened on Oxford Street, and it looks amazing both inside and out 🤩 Their team have completely transformed the old 45 Live into a really high-quality, welcoming space focused on community fitness, with a great range of classes on offer. Swesh Studio was formerly on New Road. It’s brilliant to see a local independent grow and invest back into the town centre like this, especially with such a strong community focus behind it 💙 They’ll also be holding their full launch party on Sunday 24th May, so keep an eye out for that. Wishing them all the best definitely worth checking out and having a look for yourself 🙌 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #support #community #local #fitness #love #business #new

Talbot Park on Worcester Street is now officially open to the public, and honestly, it looks great. 🌿 After months of waiting, it’s good to finally see people using the space, and it brings some much-needed greenery into the town centre. The weather turned up for it too, which made for a really nice opening with a great turnout. If you’re in town, it’s definitely worth popping over and having a look for yourself. 💙 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #local #town #love #support #community #park #spring
