Kidderminster BID Community 6 months round up

Kidderminster BID Community Round-Up 🌟

The past 6 months have been amazing for our Kidderminster BID Community Team! Together with our fantastic local partners, we’ve created a season full of activity, connection, and community spirit.

Over the past few months, we’ve proudly supported more than 60 free community activities – and it’s been wonderful to see them visited over 580 times by local people of all ages.

Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ve been up to:

✨ Connect & Brew – 25 friendly drop-in sessions across two venues, with more than 340 visits. These sessions gave people the chance to sit down, share a cuppa, and enjoy good conversation.

🎨 Creative & Craft Sessions – 18 activities across three venues, attracting 143 visits. From crafting at the Museum of Carpet to creative chats at the Futurist Cinema, these sessions have inspired imagination and connection.

💃 Fitness & Dance Sessions – 17 sessions at four venues, bringing in 100 visits. Whether it was dancing for wellbeing at Youth House or trying racket sports at the leisure centre, people got moving while having fun.

Along the way, we’ve shared laughs and stories at Kidderminster Library, enjoyed chats at the Rose Theatre and the Tulip Tree Centre, and discovered new talents in familiar community spaces.

But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real success has been the connections made, the friendships formed, and the sense of belonging that has grown within our town. Local people, coming together in local places, building stronger community ties – that’s what it’s all about.

Don’t just take our word for it, these are some of the lovely comments we’ve received from local people attending our activities:

🎤 “I’m just so glad to be able to get out, especially on a Monday after the weekend stuck indoors.” Linda (Connect & Brew @ Kidderminster Library)

🎤 “Can I just take this opportunity to say thank you for setting up and running these groups. They’re really good.” Bob (Connect & Brew @ The Tulip Tree Centre)

🎤 “I like all the groups – it’s a lovely set of people.” Charlie (Connect & Brew @ Kidderminster Library)

🎤 “Thank-you so much for organising this. It’s really great.” Lynn (Racket Sports @ Wyre Forest Leisure Centre)

🎤 “I love coming to this – you can just be yourself and have a chat with others.” Mary (Connect & Brew @ Kidderminster Library)

💙 Want to be part of it?

If you’d like to get more involved in your community, meet new people, or try something new, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with the BID Community Team and join us in making Kidderminster an even stronger, friendlier place to live.

It’s been a warmer week... and that’s putting it lightly ☀️ The heat hasn’t stopped the team though. This week we’ve been giving the flower bed at the bottom of Church Street a proper refresh. It’s a lovely spot with the church behind it, so we thought it deserved a bit of attention. We’ve cleared away the weeds and overgrown greenery, and we’re now getting fresh soil down ready for some colourful new flowers. It’s not quite finished yet, but hopefully you’ll start seeing the flowers appearing very soon 🌸 We’d also like to give a massive thank you to Pockets Snooker Club Kidderminster and the whole team there. They kept us topped up with cold drinks, refreshments and even some food while we were working in the heat. Gestures like that really do make a difference, and it’s another reminder of how lucky we are to have such supportive local businesses. We hope they’re seeing the difference around town just as much as we are. Also a massive thank you to Wyre Forest District Council for borrowing us some tools and the trailer for the green waste 💚 As always, thanks to everyone who stops for a chat, beeps, waves or says hello while we’re out working. It never goes unnoticed. 💙 #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #support #business #local #love #team #summer #nature #community

Eazy Lounge have only gone and done it again! 🤩 Back in April, we were celebrating them being crowned Best Café in Worcestershire, and now they've been nominated for Best Café in the Nation! ⭐ Full credit to the whole team. It's amazing to see a local independent business continue to thrive and receive the recognition it deserves. The passion, effort and care they put into what they do is clear to see, and they've built a genuine connection with the local community along the way. It's brilliant to see a Kidderminster business in the national spotlight, and we'd love to see them go all the way. 💙 If you've enjoyed a visit to Eazy Lounge, please take a moment to support them and cast your vote via the link below 👏 VOTE https://nominees.info/vote #kidderminster #worcestershire #support #local #love #team #business #cafe #community

Have you spotted the flowers around town yet? 🌸 They're pretty hard to miss and, honestly, they're looking stunning right now. With the warm weather we've been having, the baskets and flower beds are really starting to bloom and bring plenty of colour to the town centre. It's great to see a bit of nature around the town, and the flowers really help bring some life and colour to the streets. The recent sunshine has certainly done them a few favours, and they're looking better every day 💙 In partnership with Wyre Forest District Council and Kidderminster Town Council #Kidderminster #Worcestershire #support #flowers #spring #nature #local #love
