Kidderminster BID Community Round Up from April to June

🌟 Kidderminster BID Community Round-Up 🌟

April to June have been a busy three months for Kidderminster BID Community, with even more connections being made resulting in more good news stories to be shared.

Since the start of April, we’ve proudly supported 91 free community activities – and it’s been amazing to see them visited a total of 795 times by all sorts of local people.

Here’s just a snapshot of what we’ve been up to:

☕️Connect & Brew – 69 friendly drop-in sessions across five venues, that between them had a total of 597 visits. These sessions gave people the chance to sit down, share a cuppa, and enjoy good conversation.

🏓Fitness & Activity Sessions – 22 sessions at two venues, bringing in a total of 198 visits. Whether it was ‘Fun Fitness’ with Lisa or trying something new at the ‘Balls, Rackets, Nets and More’ group, more people got moving while having fun.

📢We’ve enjoyed chatting at the Rose Theatre, Kidderminster Library, the Tulip Tree Centre, Corner Café and the Garage Café and we’ve got physical at Youth House and Wyre Forest Leisure Centre, all while continuing to create welcoming spaces in familiar community places.

🎉But the numbers only tell part of the story. The real success has been the connections made, the friendships formed, and the sense of belonging that has continued to grow within our town.

David and Ted got chatting at the ‘Connect & Brew’ session at the Garage Café. They found out that they both enjoyed playing snooker, so arranged to meet up on a Saturday morning for a game – which they now do on a regular basis.

Susan became a regular at the Broadwaters Tea & Coffee morning held at the Rose Theatre and after chatting with members of the Friends of Broadwaters Park group over a cuppa, she joined the group. She has helped out at the yearly plant sale and goes along to the social events and meetings.

Everyone who has gone along to the ‘Balls, Rackets, Nets and More…’ group held at the leisure centre has had the opportunity to try Pickle Ball. Some have enjoyed it so much that they regularly meet for an extra session during the week.

Local people, coming together in local places, building stronger community ties – that’s what it’s all about.
