We Are Proud Of Our Town
It’s summer in Kidderminster, the flowers are blooming, the sun’s shining and visitors are enjoying being out and about again.
Kidderminster Business Improvement District will be bringing the community together and celebrating with a brand-new event scheduled to take place next month.
Kiddy Proud will take place in the town centre on August 27th 2021. The fun filled day will include music, dance, and even Shetland ponies. There will be stalls to browse, and the police, fire service and territorial army will all be taking part. You can read more here.
‘We are hoping the town will all come together for this special event,’ said Kidderminster BID Manager Alex Powell.
‘It’s a chance to show how proud we are of our town. I am proud of our community and the way we have come through the pandemic. Kidderminster has proved to be resilient, and we haven’t lost many businesses. I’m proud of the fact that Kidderminster is finding its feet again.
‘It’s also a time to celebrate our heritage and community and this is a chance for us to meet some of our public service heroes.’
There are new floral displays in areas that are not usually covered. New planting includes Worcester Street, Oxford Street, the Bull Ring roundabout and barrier baskets alongside the Riverside Walk restaurants. Wildflowers have been planted in the Comberton Hill to town centre underpass as part of plans to improve gateways to the town.
Kidderminster has also welcomed a host of new businesses during the past year.
An exciting new venue bringing live music back to the town centre opened recently. The entertainment venue, called 45 Live, is located at the former Vault Bar site on Oxford Street and will showcase local musicians, tribute acts and events.
Openings have also included Burger Bros, Trugym Kidderminster at Weavers Wharf, Tattoo@ Carlton House and 100% Aesthetics & Beauty Academy.
The Hyde Brow and Beauty Bar has opened and also Sterling Square which offers an elegant nail salon, ladies boutique and delicious refreshments.
‘It is a time to look forward,’ said Alex. I’m proud of the investment that’s coming to our town and also the regeneration that is going to be taking place through the government’s Future High Streets Fund.
‘Kidderminster is bouncing back and there is plenty of positivity in the town’
‘Summer is the season to go out and meet friends and family, perhaps go along to your favourite food and drink spots, take a stroll along the canal and support our local shops and businesses.
‘It’s a time to enjoy everything that Kidderminster has to offer.’
